The ALIF Procedure, and Why I Love Surgery

In this video I discuss the Anterior Lumbar Interbody Fusion procedure or ALIF for short. The ALIF procedure is an incredibly powerful technique that in the right patient can decompress the spine and transform it back into its normal alignment, relieving pain and improving function in the process. There are some drawbacks to using the ALIF technique, but with careful preoperative planning it has the power to produce superior outcomes. IF you are interested in learning more about this procedure, check out my book The Spine Encyclopedia.
