Introducing Our Research Pod!

As you can imagine, performing surgery is a nerve-racking, delicate and tedious process. It requires complete focus and the ability to deal with rapidly changing circumstances. Surgeons not only have to have the fortitude to cut out disease from the body, but also the compassion to help patients and their families navigate some of life’s most unpleasant challenges. No two days are ever the same, or ever “easy.”

As such, I am very excited to introduce my research group the Surgical Fitness Research Pod. The focus of our research is to improve the human aspect of performing surgery and help train the next generation of surgeons to be ready for the demanding nature of this unique and sacred profession. We are a collective of minds devoted to improving how surgery is done strictly by cultivating the surgeon.

I am lucky enough to be surrounded by an amazing team of young minds who have helped make this program a reality. Thank you not only to my dedicated researchers who put in the work, but also to my amazing office staff who coordinate our efforts behind the scenes every day.

I believe through our research, we will not only improve the art of surgery to the benefit of the patient but help those of us who are on the razors edge of delivering lifesaving care. Please check out our website.
